I am so thankful for the wisdom and tenacity of Dr. Jemsek. His courage to do the right thing in the face of much adversity is extremely admirable. This screening of Under Our Skin will definitely bring in needed attention about Lyme in North Carolina, especially now that the CFIDS office is located in Charlotte...I'm sure that since they set up shop there have been many misdiagnoses due to sheer lack of knowledge of the signs and symptoms of Lyme. There is a condition that many doctors suffer from: Ignorance! May this screening help bring them out of darkness and into the light. Many Blessings! Thank you for standing in the gap for your patients and holding onto virtue and truth.

Under Our Skin is an outstanding documentary that is awakening the world to the terrible problems faced by Lyme disease patients and their treating physicians. I am grateful to Open Eye Pictures and Turn the Corner Foundation for their public awareness efforts.
And I send a HUGE thanks to Dr. Joseph Jemsek of Jemsek Specialty Clinic in South Carolina for bringing this outstanding film to Charlotte! Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections are prevalent in North and South Carolina. It would behoove residents to compare any mysterious symptoms they are experiencing with the symptoms of tick-borne infections, and if they are similar, you will know where to go for help – Jemsek Specialty Clinic in Fort Mill, SC. www.jemsekspecialty.com
Dr. Jemsek is one of my personal heroes. He has faced difficult trials with ongoing strength and tenacity. Although forced to maneuver on the treacherously narrow, steep and winding mountainous roads of medical persecution, Dr. Jemsek has chosen a “smooth ride.” His perspective and response to this turmoil has been a calm and steady demeanor, the perseverance of Job and optimistic hope for the future of healthcare. His example is truly inspiring! Thank you, Dr. Jemsek, for imparting your example to me; it has helped me persevere on several occasions.

I'm a UK Lyme patient who remained sick for years until I recently found a private clinic that correctly diagnosed my tick-borne infections and started me on an appropriate antibiotic treatment programme. Our National Health Service follows IDSA's current view on Lyme, which severely limits the possibility of diagnosis and treatment for the thousands of us in the UK who have been infected with tick-borne diseases. I'm very grateful to everyone in the US who is contributing, under difficult circumstances, to increasing public awareness of Lyme as a wide-spread and serious disease.

I thank God for this documentary and pray that this film will open people's eyes to what is really happening in this country. If it was not for Dr. Jemsek, I would be dead today. My thanks goes out to Dr. Jemsek, Dr. Jones, and all the people that helped make this film possible. I will keep praying for the day that law maker's do the right thing and stop these unnecessary death's and allow people like me to get the care we continue to need.
Thank You

I cannot travel to be with you in Charlotte, but I'm praying you get a huge turnout and raise awareness in South Carolina. Lyme has made my life so much more difficult. My "Lymie" friends and I sometimes wish we had breast cancer instead of Lyme. We would get so much more support, there wouldn't be all the controversy, and treatment would be almost forced on us.
Thank you for all you are doing and please don't give up until Lyme is recognized for the serious, debilitating disease that it is.

My daughter and I have tick-born co-infections and we are so thankful to Dr. Joseph Jemsek for his excellent care and expert knowledge of these debilitating diseases. Many Thanks, also, for being such a caring person and hosting this event in the Charlotte area where many doctors are so uninformed.
We will be ever grateful to Andy Wilson of Open Eye Pictures who had the incite to film, direct and produce this outstanding documentary on Lyme disease and to the support of Turn the Corner Foundation and the National Capital Lyme Association. -Betty Houston, Weddington,NC

I plan to attend this function to thank Dr. Jemsek for standing up for his patients and to educate myself about the politics behind this artificially created epidemic--which I am a victim of.
Dr. Jemsek, you saved my life. Thank you for standing up to the Lyme cartel—though it cost you dearly. I say a prayer of thanks for you every morning when I wake up. Thank you for being there when it counted.

Thank you to Dr Jemsek and his staff, and also to Dr Jones and his staff for all they have done in the years to help heal my family members and ourselves. Dr.Jemsek and Dr.Jones and their family have sacrificed more than we will ever know. One day the truth will be accepted by the world's medical field and we will all give the grace and glory to GOD and our great doctors that took the stand and never gave up. We love them and will stand with them always.

I just wanted to thank you and say "Bless you" for continuing to see patients, even though you were literally forced out of practice by the insurance companies that do not want to pay for treatment for Lyme patients. Thank you for having the courage to do what is moral and right. I wish that you did not have to go through these trials and tribulations, but, please know that many think of you.
I hope that soon, especially after the "Under Our Skin" movie airs in theaters, things will change for the better. In the meantime, keep your chin up, and, thank you again for all that you do.

Dr. Jemsek has my profound gratitude for his courage in treating those of us who are Lyme patients with brilliance, commitment, compassion and great expertise. I am a complex patient who has been sick for many years and also has complicating illnesses, so Dr. Jemsek's fine mind and courage in persevering has been a blessing. The excellent documentary, "Under Our Skin", is doing much to help others learn about Lyme. Thanks to Andy Abrahams Wilson, Dr. Charles Ray Jones. Dr. Jemsek and all those in Lyme Support Groups who advocate for us. We appreciate you!

Dr. Jemsek is a "PRAYER" answered for my fiancee Phillip. He was misdiagnoised and treated for MS and Fibromyalgia for about 10 years. His life was distroyed! Finally we heard about Dr. Jemsek and what he went thru over treating people with Lyme disease. Phillip and I spoke with people at our church that knew about him and the whole thing he was going thru. When we got home we searched him on the internet to find out if he had a new office and to our great surprise he did. We called the next day and set up an appointment for Phillip. We had found out from Dr. Pierotti in Pittsburg, PA that Phillip did indead have Chronic Lyme Disease. Dr.Jemsek, to make it short has been a GOD SEND to us. He has helped Phillip so much! Phillip was at deaths door at one point. He has made a BIG change in the last year, for the better. We could never thank him enough for his kidness, knowledge, he is just a brilliant man. We also would like to thank his staff for their patience, kindness and their willingness to help at any time. Phillip & I would just like to thank you Dr. Jemsek for everything you have done so far and are looking forward to seeing you soon. God Bless you and you Staff.

I will be forever grateful to Dr. Jemsek for validating and treating the illness that was quickly taking my life away from me. His dedication and personal/professional sacrifices to the lives of those that suffer from this disease is second to none. I look forward to the day when vindication for his great work and that of others that have fought the establishment will be realized.

After one year and 15 physicians, (many who worked for major research medical centers) I was left with a dozen different diagnoses, becoming sicker and sicker literaly by the day. I honestly thought that death would soon become me. I am so greatful to Dr. Jemsek and his excellent staff for diagnosing me "per CDC guidelines". The treatment was difficult, painful and cost me my career and marriage. However in looking back, I gained some of my health back and there is no price tag you can ever place on something as precious as that. I look forward to this event.

Joe,
The testimonials to you say it all. You have been part of my life for years now, because you saved it. I function at a high level (although I am sure others would disagree) because of your care. With affection, I refer to you as the "mad genius"--mad only because of the corruption that unjustly interferes with the care you demand for your patients. The genius does not require any explanation. I am proud to be a part of this event, and greatly look forward to putting on some finery to remind myself that it was 7 years ago that the only finery I was able to wear was an IV drip and a hospital gown. God Bless and keep you and your family in His care, always. Karen

Thank you to those that have shared their gratitude with Dr. Jemsek in the guestbook or in other ways as he has given so much to us all. I'd like to share with those reading the guestbook a note that my family and I had previously shared with Dr. Jemsek.
A hero is defined as a legendary figure with great ability, an illustrious warrior, a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities, and one that shows great courage.
Our hero is just that, a man that deeply cares for those whose illness is “not a disease”, whose illness has been ignored, whose illness has gone unresolved and for those who suffer day after day.
Our hero has risked all he has for us.
Our hero has battled the evil forces that would deny us treatment and health claims.
Our hero has saved our daughter from a frail and failing immune system.
Our hero has given us life.
To our hero we are forever grateful.
Thank you Dr. Jemsek!
Love always, from the Krantz family

Dearest Dr. J and everyone who reads this,
I represent the other side of the world of this evil epidemic. In Sweden and in the rest of Europe these tick borne illnesses are a huge problem and with very little research and understanding and no correct treatment!
People are getting more ill by the day and most of them with incorrect diagnoses... it's devastating to see and especially how many children are being ignored and families broken apart by all of this.
I trusted my instincts after years of hell and contacted Dr. Jemsek.
I don't know were you (Dr. J) get your courage, strength and wisdom from and I hope you will get recognized for the amazing work you are doing. You are truly an inspiration and a God send!!!
We have a Lyme meeting (the Borrelia association of Sweden) here in Stockholm next weekend which I will be apart of and make sure that your name is mentioned more the once!
I look forward to regaining my health back and to help fight for this cause... I won't be able to attend the gala but I know it will be a success! Caroline - Stockholm, SWEDEN

Dr. Jemsek, I hope tonight’s celebration is an evening of restoration and healing.
Thank you for choosing to keep the ‘art’ of medicine alive and to practice it with integrity. Thank you for not taking the path of least resistance and for really listening. I appreciate you and your staff putting it all on the line for your patients, their proper treatment and not backing down.
As well, many thanks to Andy Abrahams Wilson for producing this film and the tireless hours he and his cohorts spent to bring it to life. It is a brilliant film. Through his art, he has most poignantly communicated the pain so many are enduring at present, whose voices have been stifled.
I pray that tonight there are individual’s in the audience who have not viewed Andy’s film yet who will be deeply touched by seeing the reality of Chronic Lyme Disease and Associated Infections. I hope this new awareness will create enlightened action in all aspects of testing and treatment of tick-borne illness and disease.
Through the work of these two men and their cohorts I have been given back both my Life, but also Hope, I am immensely Grateful everyday…I will be there in Spirit tonight.

Dear Dr. J and your Staff:
I left Friday's Gala with a renewed sense of purpose. Every Lyme patient should be as fortunate as I have been and I owe that to you and your office staff- my angels. Your collective heroism has brought light to a place of much darkness, and I am very aware, I was one of the lucky ones. Like I told you on Friday, I have my calling, yes; however, whatever you need I will do. I am grateful to you and those that came before me that would not accept "NO" as an answer. You have given us all the greatest gift... our lives. May you know how very grateful I am...
With greatest appreciation and gratitude-
Amelia Bennington

Dr. J
I love you (!) like so many of your patients do. It amazes me every time that I think of you of how incredibly blessed I am to be in your care. I don't think you really comprehend how deep the devotion to you runs among your patients.
It is difficult for me to understand how others in the medical community can doubt your knowledge when you are the top physician in the area that focuses on Lyme and its victims. You have proven yourself over and over since you went through similar struggles with another group of patients, HIV and Aids---a group that the medical community at large ignored and did not know how to help.
Now you are improving the health of another group of patients begging for medical attention. You provide a level of improvement that will not be found elsewhere with 'standard care' or without the medical community's willingness to absorb the knowledge that you want to provide-the brilliant intelligence that has brightly illuminated your entire career.
How many people can say that they received a very high award from the NC governor-an award that is not even given out every year? The spotlight is on you.
How can the rest of the medical community, responsible for providing the best, up-to-date care to their patients ignore the main speaker in this area?
This documentary shows the difficulties that Lyme patients endure with their health, medical ignorance, insurance groups, non support, political influence, etc. Much of the information can be thought about in all areas of health issues. I hope that we will see great changes in these issues.
Thank you for your dedication to health matters and focusing on groups of people that can't find quality, life improving medical attention elsewhere. Thank you to Andy for creating documentaries for 'the little guys'!
With deep gratitude and admiration,
Debbie (NC patient)
